Tennis Prepares for Four-Match Weekend

WASHINGTON — The Georgetown University men's and women's tennis teams are back in action for four matches from March 21-23. The men's team will stay in the nation's capital for two matches against the University of Delaware and St. Joseph's (Pa.), while the women's team will travel to the Midwest for BIG EAST matches against Xavier and Butler.

Follow the Hoyas

  • The men's team will play two matches on Friday and Saturday. First, the team will host the Delaware Blue Hens on Friday, March 21, at 11:45 a.m. at Georgetown Prep before taking on St. Joseph's (Pa.) on March 22 at 12:45 p.m.
  • The women's team will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, on March 22 to take on Xavier before heading to Indianapolis, Indiana, to face Butler.
  • There will not be a stream or live stats for any of the matches.

  • Georgetown men's tennis enters the weekend with a 4-8 record and a 1-3 mark in conference action. The Hoyas dropped matches to Creighton and DePaul in Chicago this past weekend.
  • In the Hoyas' 4-3 loss to Creighton, Arthur O'Sullivan, Adhvyte Sharma and Sahil Morey all picked up singles wins.
  • Despite falling 7-0 to DePaul, the duo of Jake Fellows and Arthur O'Sullivan won a doubles match against Marko Milosavljevic and Matteo Antonio Iaquinto of DePaul (6-1).
  • Fellows leads the Hoyas in wins this spring, tallying six victories thus far.

  • Georgetown women's tennis enters the weekend with a 6-6 record and a 3-2 mark in conference play.
  • The Hoyas are coming off a 5-2 loss at Delaware on Wednesday. In the loss, sophomore Emily Novikov defeated No. 61 Maryia Hrynashka (6-3, 6-4), improving her singles record to 8-3 this spring.
  • Novikov was named the BIG EAST Women's Singles Player of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the league office on Monday.
  • Novikov earned the honor after defeating No. 61 Hrynashka of Delaware, 6-3, 6-4.
  • Paige Gilbert picked up the other singles win for the Hoyas, defeating Navya Vadlamudi of Delaware 6-3, 6-4. Gilbert has now tallied three-consecutive singles wins for Georgetown, which is the longest active win streak on the team.
