WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's women's openweight rowing team opened the Spring 2024 season Sunday morning with a strong showing at the Georges' Cup in Fairfax Virginia on the Occoquan Reservoir. In the field of three teams, the point totals were five for George Mason, 15 for Georgetown, and 15 for George Washington.
George Washington won the Class of 1998 Cup, securing victory in the varsity 8. Additionally, George Washington retains the Georges' Cup based on the combined points from the varsity eight, second varsity eight, and varsity four. The winner of the varsity eight event serves as the tiebreaker for the Georges' Cup.
