WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team will travel to Las Vegas to compete in the inaugural College Basketball Crown, a single-elimination 16-team tournament featuring competitive postseason matchups from the nation's biggest basketball conferences. The Hoyas are set to face Washington State on Monday, March 31 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Tipoff scheduled for 11 p.m. ET.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Most recently, a shorthanded Georgetown team (17-15, 8-12 BE) fell 71-67 to #10 DePaul in the first round of the 2025 BIG EAST Tournament. Micah Peavy led a quartet of Hoyas in double figures with 26 points on 10-for-16 shooting. During the game, Peavy scored his 1,500th collegiate point with 3:01 remaining in regulation. Also chipping in double figures was Curtis Williams Jr. and Jayden Epps. Georgetown shot 41.4% (24-58) from the field.
- Peavy was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team following a season that saw him average 16.9 ppg, good enough for sixth in the conference, while recording a league-leading 2.3 spg. He chipped in 5.7 rpg and 3.6 apg while he appeared in and started all 31 games of the season, a feat achieved by no other Hoya.
- Additionally, Thomas Sorber earned a nod to the All-BIG EAST Third Team following a season where he averaged 14.5 ppg, 8.5 rpg and 2.0 bpg in a season shortened because of injury. Sorber was also one of two unanimous selections to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team. He and fellow frosh Liam McNeeley (UConn) were the only freshman to earn third team honors and unanimous selections to the all-freshman squad.
- Sorber's season was cut short following an injury suffered to his left foot on Saturday, February 15. He had surgery on Wednesday, February 26 and a full recovery is expected. Sorber will not play for the remainder of the 2024-25 season. He announced that he will enter his name in the 2025 NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility.
- Peavy leads a quartet of Hoyas averaging double figures posting 17.2 ppg, a mark that is fifth in the BIG EAST. Sorber chips in 14.5 ppg, followed by Epps (12.8 ppg) and Malik Mack (11.7 ppg).
- Sorber leads the squad on the glass pulling down 8.5 rpg followed by Peavy (5.8 rpg).
- Malik Mack paces the offense, dishing out 4.3 apg.
- Peavy ranks 16th in the country and leads the BIG EAST in steals per game, picking 2.31 pockets per game.
- Sorber's eight double-doubles are tied for fourth in the league and are third in the nation among freshmen, behind Derik Queen (Maryland) with 15.
- Defensively, the team is fifth in the league in scoring defense, allowing an average of 68.8 ppg. GU ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in field goal percentage defense (42.7%). The Hoyas are fourth in the league in steals per game (7.9) and are forcing opponents to commit 13.38 turnovers per game, which ranks fourth in the conference.
ABOUT THE COUGARS
- In its last outing, Washington State (19-14, 8-10 WCC) fell 86-75 to San Francisco in the WCC quarterfinals at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Cougars defeated Loyola Marymount in the first round.
- The Cougars earned a fourth-consecutive postseason appearance with a berth into the inaugural College Basketball Crown, March 31-April 6 in Las Vegas.
- First-year head coach David Riley has guided the Cougs to the most wins by a first-year coach since Tony Bennett won 26 games in 2006-07. Riley led WSU to its second-most wins by a first-year coach in program history and ensured a .500+ record for the sixth-consecutive season.
- WSU ranks top-20 in the country in five team categories: 9th in overall FG% (.491), 12th in effective FG% (.567), 12th in 2-point FG% (.580), 19th in blocks per game (4.9), and 19th in assists per game (16.9).
- LeJuan Watts became the second Coug in program history to record a triple-double, Jan. 23, at Santa Clara. Watts' triple-double was the first of his career. Watts is the team's leading rebounder and his tallied nine double-doubles.
- The Cougars are the top shot-blocking team in the WCC, leading the League with 163 blocks, 23 more than the next-closest WCC team. ND Okafor leads WSU with 39 total blocks (third in WCC).
