WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's golf team is set to open the spring 2025 season at the Donald Ross Collegiate which will take place at Mid Pines in Southern Pines, North Carolina hosted by George Mason. The two-day, par-72, 6657 yard tournament, scheduled for March 10-11, will follow a three-round format featuring teams from 20 schools. Live scoring will be available on GUHoyas.com through Scoreboard powered by Clippd and will be live streamed on YouTube via Babygrande Golf.
Hoya Lineup
- Georgetown will travel with five student-athletes for this week's competition.
- In their last outing, the Hoyas secured its first top-place finish since 2018 at the 2024 ODU/OBX Intercollegiate. GU posted rounds of 287, a season-low 275, and 284 at the Kilmarlic Golf Club. The Hoyas rounded out the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a season-low total team score of 846.
- Barnes Blake will take the top spot. Blake ended the fall with a 73-stroke average and was the top performer for the Blue & Gray at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate, finishing fourth overall. The sophomore shot his best of the year with rounds of 72, 65 and 71, finishing at 5-under par (208).
- CJ Winchenbaugh will compete in the two spot. In his last outing at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate, Winchenbaugh delivered a 14-birdie performance on his way to a 1-under par finish. The freshman turned in cards of 75, 71, and a final round 66.
- Carsten Judge is set to play in the three spot. Judge competed in three events for the Hoyas in the fall with a 73-stroke average.
- Team captain Max Hutter is set to compete at the four for GU. The senior recorded a 74-stroke average in the fall and his best finish was T22 at the Georgetown Intercollegiate.
- Team captain Jacob Finard will be in the five spot.
About the Tournament
- The event will feature 19 other institutions with Bowling Green, Chattanooga, Dayton, Elon, George Mason, George Washington, Loyola Chicago, Loyola MD, Ohio University, Old Dominion, St. Bonaventure, St. Joseph's, St. John's, Seton Hall, South Dakota, Toledo, Towson, William & Mary and Xavier.
- Teams will start with a shotgun start on Monday morning for rounds one and two, and on Tuesday, they will start from holes #1 and #10 for round three. Monday's tee times will begin at 8:45 a.m., with round two following immediately after the conclusion of round one. Tuesday's final round will have tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. and continuing until 10:20 a.m.
