Women’s Openweight Rowing Finishes Competition at Navy

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's rowing team delivered a dominant performance on the water this weekend, securing victories in four of five grand finals against service academy rival Navy.

"The team had a great showing at the Naval Academy today. Each boat executed their race with intention and drive demonstrating the consistent progress that has been made each week all season. A big thank you to Navy for hosting!" - Head Coach Kendall Mulligan

Varsity Eight Grand Final -
2nd-place finish out of two boats with a time of 7:27.49.
Coxed by Lilly Bartilucci, Sophia Grossman at stroke, followed by Amrit Chapman, Katrina Csaky, Jordan Keene, Audrey Chapman, Emma Wendt, Clara Weller and Anna Hemmerle in bow. 

Second Varsity Eight Grand Final - 1st-place finish out of three boats with a time of 7:33.19
Yanna Grammas coxed the 2V8 with Ellie Power at stroke. Behind her are Sydney Thompson, Caden Collins, Noelle Winegar, Rebecca Estevao, Julia Ashton, Alex Junko, and Madeleine Sweet in bow. 

Second Varsity Eight Grand Final - 3rd-place finish out of three boats with a time of 8:14.45
Led by coxswain Maca Morales, the 3V8 was stroked by Carmen Torrecilla, followed by Sara Wasserman, Caroline Maloney, Charvee Dua, Maeve Farley, Georgia Cooper, Maia Van Biesen, and Zoe Stone in bow.

Varsity Four Grand Final - 1st-place finish out of two boats with a time of 8:15.88.
Phoebe Opler coxes the 1V4 with Abigail Camp at stroke, followed by Caroline Keller, Katherine Lord-Krause, and Caroline Stevens in bow. 

2v4 - 1st-place finish out of three boats with a time of 8:31.81.
Coxed by Abbey Murray, Lily Plum at stroke, with Elana Elder, Sophie Roman and Sophia Close behind her. 

Up Next
The women's openweight team is set to compete next from Friday, April 25 to Saturday, April 26 at the Lake Wheeler Invitational in Lake Wheeler, North Carolina, while the lightweight rowing team will be back in action on April 26 at the Princeton Duel in Princeton, New Jersey.
