Softball Hosts Creighton for a Three-Game Set

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University softball team will host Creighton for a three-game series from April 4-6 at the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy in Washington, D.C. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 3 p.m. The Hoyas enter the series with an 8-20 record overall and a 0-12 mark in BIG EAST play while the Blue Jays sit at 12-19 on the season with a 2-7 mark in conference action.

About the Hoyas

  • The Hoyas enter the weekend with an 8-20 record after dropping both games of a doubleheader at James Madison (8-0, 7-2).
  • In the game two loss to JMU, Claire Turner tallied her seventh multi-hit game of the season. The junior went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
  • In BIG EAST play, Abby Kozo leads the Hoyas in batting average at .324, while Brooke Rebhan follows closely at .313.
  • Emily Strittmatter is tied for second in the conference in doubles with four to her credit.

  • Brooklyn Patchen was sensational in relief, going 4.2 innings scoreless innings, allowing just two hits, walking two and striking out five.
