WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's lightweight rowing team wrapped up its competition at IRA Regatta National Championships in Camden, New Jersey. Six lightweight boats posted mix results on Cooper River during the three-day event. The Varsity 4+ boat highlighted the weekend for the Hoyas, taking home their third consecutive National Championship.
"We were excited with the opportunity to bring a full team to the IRA this year. We would have liked to have all boats in the grand final but it was fun to be able to end with every crew getting a win. Of course, the highlight of the weekend was our four winning their event for the third consecutive year, but it was more special than years past considering it was our 3V guys. It was a demonstration of what we've been talking about all year about having everybody contribute.
