Micah Peavy Headed to the New Orleans Pelicans with No. 40 Pick in 2025 NBA Draft

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University men's basketball's Micah Peavy was selected by the Washington Wizards with the No. 40 pick in the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft on Thursday evening at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. However, as part of a deal that will be finalized later, the Wizards traded the draft rights of Peavy to the New Orleans Pelicans. Paired with the first round selection of Thomas Sorber to NBA Champions Oklahoma City Thunder with the 15th pick last night, this marks the first time a Hoya duo has been drafted since 2008.
