WASHINGTON – The No. 12 Georgetown University women's cross country team took first place in the open 5K race at the Cantello Invitational, hosted by the US Naval Academy. The women's team scored a mere 15 points on the USNA Cross Country Course in Annapolis, Maryland to take the crown in the three-team field while additional athletes ran unattached or as individuals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Caroline Cummings was the top Hoya finisher, clocking 19:10.6 in the 5K race. She led a quintet of Hoyas who finished fourth through eighth.
- Victoria Ketzler (5th) was the next Hoya to cross the finish line, followed by Alli Crytser (6th), Amalie Beil (7th) and Mary Grace Hegberg (8th).
- The Hoyas boasted a spread of less than 55 seconds across all five point scorers.
- Also in the field were unattached runners and athletes competing as individuals from Catholic University, Loyola Maryland, UMBC, Mount St. Mary's and Navy.
