WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Alton McKenzie announced the 2026 schedule for the men's and women's cross country teams on Monday. The upcoming campaigns feature a robust championship slate for both squads, highlighted by the women's team competing in eight meets and the men's team racing in six.
The Hoyas will begin their season together in Virginia at the Spider Alumni Open on September 5, hosted by the University of Richmond in Mechanicsville. From there, the women's squad will travel to Annapolis, Maryland, for the Cantello Invitational hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy on September 12, while the men take a week off from competition.
Both teams reunite later in the month on September 26 for the Princeton Meadow Challenge in New Jersey before kicking off October at the Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin, on October 9. The women's team will get an extra tune up on October 16, returning to New Jersey for the Princeton Fall Classic.
The championship season begins in earnest on October 30, when both programs travel back to Mechanicsville for the BIG EAST Championship. The Hoyas will then head to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on November 13 for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship, hosted by Lehigh University, looking to secure spots at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on November 21 in Terre Haute, Indiana.
