No. 20/25 Georgetown Faces Seton Hall in Midweek Matchup

WASHINGTON – The No. 20/25 Georgetown University women's soccer team will travel to South Orange, New Jersey to take on the Seton Hall Pirates on Wednesday evening. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Owen T. Carroll Field.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Georgetown (5-2-2, 1-0 BE) opened conference action with a 3-1 victory over Creighton in Omaha on Saturday evening. Jocelyn Lohmeyer, Henley Tippins and Maja Lardner all found the back of the net in the contest.
  • Tippins tallied a goal and an assist against Creighton, earning her a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. This is Tippins first honor of the season.
  • Shay Montgomery tallied two assists in the contest marking the first time in her collegiate career that she tallied two in a game. Mary Cochran earned her first assists of the season against the Bluejays.
  • Lardner scored her sixth goal of the season on Saturday and her first of the conference slate. Lardner, the reigning BIG EAST Offensive Player of the year, scored seven goals in conference action a season ago.
  • Cara Martin has logged all 810 minutes in goal for the Blue & Gray and boasts a 0.89 goals-against average. The reigning BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year has three shutouts on the campaign and 24 saves to her credit.
  • The Blue & Gray rank second in the BIG EAST in corners per game (6.67). Martin leads the conference in minutes played in goal (810). Lardner is third in the conference in shots per game (3.67). Tippins is second in the conference in game-winning goals with two to her credit this season.
  • Dating back to 2021, Georgetown boasts a BIG EAST record of 29-2-9 and secured the regular season title in 2022, 2023 and 2024. GU won the BIG EAST Championship in three of the past four seasons (2021, 2022, 2023).
ABOUT SETON HALL
  • Seton Hall (3-2-4, 0-1-0 BE) is coming off a 1-0 loss at Villanova on Saturday evening.
  • Gianna Angelillo paces the Pirate offense with 10 points on the season on five goals. Nina Davis is second on the team in points with seven to her credit, tallying two goals and three assists.
  • Avery Strohecker and Kate Kleinsmith have both seen action in net this season for SHU. Strohecker has logged 540 minutes in goal and boasts a 1.17 goals-against average.
ABOUT THE SERIES
  • This will be the 33rd all-time meeting between the two sides dating back to 1994. GU holds a 21-8-3 record against Seton Hall.
  • In the last meeting between the two sides, GU secured a 5-0 victory at Shaw Field (9/26/24). Tippins scored two goals in the contest while Cochran and Lohmeyer each added one as well.
  • GU has conceded just one goal against Seton Hall dating back to 2012.
