Swimming & Diving to Open 2025-26 Campaign at the Potomac Relays

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's and women's swimming & diving teams will kick off the 2025-26 season at the Potomac Relays on Friday, September 26 at American University. The relays will begin at 1 pm at Reeves Aquatic Center and diving will follow at 3 pm at McCarthy Pool.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Last season, the men's team captured their fourth-straight BIG EAST Championship. 
  • For the second-consecutive season, Jack Leavitt along with assistant coaches Sam Milligan, Ceallach Gibbons, Molly Benson and Meg Tomayko were named BIG EAST Men's Coaching Staff of the Year.
  • In May, the Hoyas welcomed first-year head coach John Carroll to the Hilltop. Carroll took over at the helm of the GU program after spending the past two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Virginia. He brings eight years of collegiate coaching experience, as well as an impressive swimming career for the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC).
  • Georgetown returns 45 members from the 2024-25 team, 23 on the women's side and 22 on the men's.
  • Among the returners are several Hoyas who earned All-BIG EAST selections following their success at the conference championship in 2025. Those include Kathryn Jewell, Angelica Reali, Taplin Seelbach, Bailey De Luise, Conor Jellig,Nico Santiago, Owen Watkins, Wilson Tunila, Nick Pezzella, Tomo Nozaki and Ronan Krauss. 
  • The Hoyas welcome 14 newcomers to the Hilltop including one graduate transfer from Virginia Tech. 
MEET NOTES
  • Georgetown is slated to go up against DMV rivals American, George Mason, Howard, Mary Washington and Mount St. Mary's in the following relays: 200 medley relay, 800 freestyle relay, 3x100 butterfly relay, 3x100 backstroke relay, 3x100 breaststroke relay, 500 freestyle relay, 4x100 IM relay, 1000 freestyle relay and 200 freestyle relay.
