WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's soccer team will return to Shaw Field after a three-game road swing to host No. 10/18 South Carolina. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 7. GU went 1-1-1 on the road with a win over then-No. 15 Virginia Tech, a tie against then-No. 13 Virginia and a narrow defeat to No. 25 Vanderbilt. GU's game against South Carolina will mark the fourth-consecutive ranked matchup for the Blue & Gray.

ABOUT THE HOYAS

• Georgetown enters Sunday's contest with a 2-1-2 record after dropping Thursday night's contest at Vanderbilt 1-0.
• For her efforts last week, Lardner earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after earning BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on August 25.
• Shay Montgomery is second on the team in points with three to her credit. Montgomery has tallied a goal and an assist this season through four games.
• Cara Martin has logged all 450 minutes in goal for GU and boasts a 1.00 GAA with 17 saves on the season. Martin, the reigning BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year has one shutout on the campaign.
• The Blue & Gray went 13-4-4 in 2024 with a mark of 8-1-1 in BIG EAST Conference action which was good enough to win the regular season championship. The Hoyas boasted two All-America selections and six All-BIG EAST selections including three major award winners. The Blue & Gray advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 13th consecutive season and advanced to the second round before finishing the season receiving votes in the final poll.
• Georgetown returns 22 players from last season including seven starters from last season.
• Head Coach Dave Nolan enters his 22nd season at the helm of the Hoyas and boasts a 284-96-65 career record. Nolan and staff were named the 2024 BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year for the fifth time dating back to 2007.

ABOUT #10/18 SOUTH CAROLINA

• South Carolina enters Sunday's contest with a 6-0-1 record after defeating American 2-0 on Thursday evening. Mackenzie Johnson tallied both Gamecock goals in the win over American.
• Johnson paces the squad on offense with nine points to her credit on four goals and one assist.
• Christina Tsaousis has started six games in goal recording 551 minutes between the pipes. Tsaousis has six saves to her credit and boasts a 0.16 GAA.

 
ABOUT THE SERIES

• Georgetown is 1-0-1 all-time against South Carolina dating back to spring 2021.
• GU defeated the Gamecocks 1-0 on May 1, 2021 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in the spring season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• The Blue & Gray and South Carolina played for the second time last year and the Hoyas earned a hard fought 2-2 draw on the road. Eliza Turner scored both Georgetown goals in the contest.
