WASHINGTON – Errol Robinson, a former sixth-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2016, has been named the new assistant coach of Georgetown baseball. Robinson will serve as the new hitting and infield coach and will also coach third base.
Robinson brings more than ten years of professional baseball experience, including an invitation to Major League Baseball spring training with the Baltimore Orioles. He spent more than six seasons competing at the Double-A and Triple-A levels, providing a wealth of experience as both a player and mentor.
Robinson began his coaching career in the Southeastern Conference at his alma mater, Ole Miss, during the 2024–25 season. The Rebels won 42 games and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. This past fall, Robinson served on the coaching staff at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he worked with infielders and assisted with hitting.
A native of Boyds, Maryland, Robinson played his final two years of high school baseball at St. John's College High School in Washington, D.C.
As a player at Ole Miss, Robinson was a three-year starter and helped lead the Rebels to the NCAA Tournament in each of his three seasons. In 2014, he helped Ole Miss reach the College World Series with 48 wins and was named to the All-SEC Championship Team after appearing in 67 games as a true freshman.
"I am truly looking forward to seeing what impact he is going to have on our players and program. I recruited him out of high school, coached against him and have gotten to see his growth as a coach. He has a passion for the game that is so pure and he is a connector and a great communicator. Playing at such a high level, he will be able to provide the players information from what the best players in the world are doing. I'm glad to welcome him back home to the DMV and excited to get started with our first team workout." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson
"I am incredibly grateful and excited to join Georgetown University as the assistant coach. Georgetown represents excellence in academics, athletics and character. It is an honor to be entrusted with developing young men within this program. I am thankful for the coaches, mentors and teammates who shaped me as a player at Ole Miss and throughout my professional career, and for the opportunities that prepared me for this moment. My commitment at Georgetown is simple. To serve our players with honesty, preparation and care. To teach the game with clarity and purpose. To help create an environment where standards are high, trust is strong and growth happens daily. Winning matters, development matters and who we become along the way matters just as much. I am excited to pour into this program, compete at a high level and be a positive light within the Georgetown community." - Assistant Coach Errol Robinson
Georgetown opens the 2026 season on February 13 at Winthrop University. The home opener is scheduled for February 22 against Saint Peter's University.
