Georgetown Hosts No. 1/1 UConn at CareFirst Arena

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's basketball team will host the No. 1/1 University of Connecticut Huskies on Thursday evening in a sold out BIG EAST Conference matchup at CareFirst Arena in Washington, D.C. The opening tip is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on TNT, truTV and HBOMax with J.B. Long and Christy Winter Scott on the call.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (11-7, 4-6 BIG EAST) is coming off of a big 63-54 win over St. John's on Saturday afternoon at the Al McGuire Center in Milwaukee.
  • Junior Khia Miller led the way for the Hoyas with 21 points in the contest going 8-10 from the field.
  • Sophomore Destiny Agubata had an all-around performance with 13 points while posting her second-career double-double with a squad-high 10 boards as well as leading in both assists and steals with five and three, respectively.
  • Graduate student Brianna Scott and junior Cristen Carter rounded out those in double figures with 10 points apiece.
  • The Blue & Gray shot 45.3% (24-53) from the field, and allowed just 31.6% (18-57) shooting by Marquette.
  • GU outrebounded the Golden Eagles 35-33 and forced 15 MU turnovers on six steals.
  • The victory marked the first over Marquette since the 2017-18 season and the first win in Milwaukee since the 2011-12 campaign.
  • For her efforts in the Marquette game as well as big performance in the win over St. John's, Agubata earned her second BIG EAST Honor Roll award of the season.
  • For the week, Agubata averaged 14.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 4.5 apg and 2.0 spg to lead the Hoyas to a 2-0 performance.
  • Miller leads the way for the Hoyas this season with 11.4 ppg.
  • Graduate student Laila Jewett is averaging 9.6 ppg to rank second and leads the squad with 57 assists.
  • Carter leads the team on the glass with 5.8 rpg to go along with 6.8 ppg.
About the Huskies
  • Top-ranked UConn (19-0, 9-0 BIG EAST) is coming off of an 85-47 win over Notre Dame on Monday.
  • Sophomore Sarah Strong had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Huskies as all five starters scored in double digits against the Fighting Irish.
  • The margin of victory (+38) was UConn's largest vs. Notre Dame in the series history.
  • UConn is the reigning national champion after winning the title in 2025.
