Amelia Lech Named Georgetown Softball Assistant Coach

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University softball Head Coach Karla Ross has announced that Amelia Lech will join the program as an assistant coach for the 2026 season.

"Amelia brings an incredible knowledge of the game and a true passion for developing student athletes," said Ross. "As our new pitching and catching coach, she will be a huge asset to our staff, and her impact will extend to every part of our program's offense, defense and beyond. We're thrilled to welcome her to Georgetown softball."

Lech joins the Hoyas after serving as an assistant coach at Southern Union State Community College. At Southern Union, Lech worked directly with the pitching staff, overseeing bullpen development and game planning. Her role also included recruiting support, player development, and daily practice organization.

Lech has also spent the past four years involved in travel softball in Alabama and Southern California. She organized
and operated a competitive travel ball program, managing all aspects of player development, recruiting education, scheduling, and program operations. Her experience working with athletes at multiple stages of the recruiting process has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of long-term player growth and preparation for the collegiate level.

Prior to coaching, Lech played softball at Auburn University and the University of Maryland. During her collegiate
career, Lech was a consistent offensive contributor, earning All-Tournament recognition, NFCA All-Region honors and multiple Academic Honor Roll distinctions, including NFCA All-America Student-Athlete honors in 2024.

"I'm extremely grateful to Karla for the opportunity and the trust she has placed in me by welcoming me to the coaching staff," said Lech. "Joining the Georgetown softball program is exactly where I want to be, and I'm excited to work daily with our student-athletes, especially in the bullpen. I'm committed to advancing the vision for Georgetown softball by helping build a positive and competitive environment. Just as importantly, I'm dedicated to supporting our athletes off the field and helping them succeed academically, honoring the high standard they represent at Georgetown. Go Hoyas!"
