WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University swimming & diving teams return to action on Friday, October 2, traveling to Towson, Maryland for a dual meet against Towson University. Racing gets underway at 3 p.m. at Burdick Pool.

The Hoyas are coming off their season-opening meet against William & Mary on September 26, where the women's squad fell 177–117 and the men's team dropped a hard-fought 158–136 decision.
Despite the final team scores, Georgetown delivered standout performances across the pool and diving wells. On the men's side,
Maxon Brienza,
Braden Ripken,
Henry Haupt, and
Owen Watkins captured a win in the 200-yard medley relay (1:30.41), while
Lucas Knapp (200 butterfly),
Ben Tunila (200 breaststroke), and
Holden Brown (100 butterfly) added individual victories.
Nico Santiago swept the men's diving events, winning both the 1-meter (308.60) and 3-meter (300.40) boards.
For the women,
Madie Malone notched a dominant win in the 100-yard freestyle (50.67), and
Bella Dimaculangan touched first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:04.42).
Mia Williams also swept the diving well, taking first place on both the 1-meter (253.87) and 3-meter (240.80) boards.
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
Friday marks another chapter in a familiar regional series between the Hoyas and Tigers. Historically, the men's program holds a 7–3 advantage in head-to-head meetings dating back to 2010. The two sides last met on October 10, 2019, in Washington, D.C., where Towson edged out a narrow 155–145 victory. Georgetown looks to bounce back and capture its first team wins of the 2026–27 campaign on the road.
