Georgetown Plays Providence to 1-1 Draw

PROVIDENCE, R.I.  - The Georgetown University women's soccer team played Providence to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday evening at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. With the result, the Hoyas move to 3-4-4 overall and 0-2-2 in BIG EAST play, while the Friars move to 2-2-8 overall and 0-1-2 in conference play.

Head Coach Dave Nolan

  • This is always a tough place to win and PC, just like us, are a much better team than their record suggests. We started brightly and scored a good goal to go one up. We had the better of the first half but credit to Providence they rallied in the 2nd half and put us under real pressure. It wasn't a surprise they tied it up and although both teams had chances to win it a draw was probably deserved.  We are running out of games and really need to start picking up wins down the stretch if we want post season play"
