WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Softball freshman Catherine Larson was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week while Emily Strittmatter earned a spot on the honor roll, as announced by the league on Monday. Larson and Strittmatter earned the honors after the Hoyas defeated Lafayette 3-2 and Iona 7-0.

• Larson threw a complete game victory over Iona on Saturday, striking out 11 while allowing just two hits and one walk in the 7-0 victory.
• This marks Larson's first career BIG EAST weekly honor.  

Emilly Strittmatter | Jr. | INF | Scottsdale, Ariz.

• Strittmatter went 6-for-14 (.428) with one run, one RBI, and one home run on the weekend.
