WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University softball team (3-3) will host Drexel (5-4) in a three-game home-opening series this weekend. The Hoyas and Dragons will play a doubleheader on Saturday, February 28. The first game will start at 1 p.m. followed by the second game at 3:30 p.m. The third game will be play on Sunday, March 1 at noon. All games will be play at the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- The Hoyas are coming off a 2-2 weekend in Wilmington, North Carolina. GU defeated Lafayette 3-2 and Iona 7-0.
- Pitcher Catherine Larson was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for her performance in the Hoyas win over Iona. Larson threw a complete game victory over Iona on Saturday, striking out 11 while allowing just two hits and one walk in the 7-0 victory.
- Junior Emily Strittmatter earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after going 6-for-14 (.428) with one run, one RBI, and one home run on the weekend.
- The Hoyas are 5-5 against the Dragons, winning the last two contests.
ABOUT THE DRAGONS
- Drexel is coming off a 2-2 weekend at the Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
- The Dragons fell 6-4 and 16-6 to Winthrop while defeating Mount St. Mary's 7-2 and Presbyterian 2-1.
- Kylah Reading was named CAA Player of the Week following her performance at the Winthrop Invitational.Reading hit .500 (7-for-14) across four games with nine RBI and four runs scored. She also recorded a pair of three-hit performances during the weekend.
