Georgetown Takes on George Washington in Midweek Contest

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team (5-5) will make the short trip up the road on Wednesday to play a midweek contest against George Washington (11-6) on Wednesday, March 11 at 3 p.m. at the GW Softball Field.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • The Hoyas are coming off of a 0-1 week after the weekend's games were postponed until later in the season due to snow in the Providence region.
  • In GU's lone contest of the week, the Hoyas fell to George Mason 3-1 in a nonconference matchup.
  • Brooke Rebhan went 2-3 at the plate, while Nina Sarlo went 1-3 with a run scored.
  • In the circle, Emily Collins struck out four batters in four innings pitched.
  • Senior Dayanara Campos leads the team at the plate batting .400, while classmate Claire Turner is averaging .394 with 13 hits on the season.
  • Catherine Larson has a 2.18 ERA in the circle with 24 strikeouts on the year.
 
ABOUT THE REVOLUTIONARIES
  • George Washington is coming off a 2-1 weekend series against Saint Louis at home.
  • GW lost the first game in a Saturday doubleheader (6-4), but won the next two 6-0 and 6-2.
  • The squad is led by Cece Smith who leads the Atlantic 10 in OPS (1.492) and is third in the league in ERA (2.28) as well as 2025 A-10 All-Conference First Team outfielder Ashley Corpuz who has had a hit in each of the team's last seven games.
  • GW has five home games this week and will face UMass Lowell on Tuesday afternoon.
