WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team (6-5, 0-0 BIG EAST) will open BIG EAST Conference play on Friday afternoon in Chicago as the squad faces the DePaul University Blue Demons (10-14, 1-2 BIG EAST at Cacciatore Stadium. Due to inclement weather in the region, the games have been changed so the teams will battle in a doubleheader at 2 and 4:30 p.m. ET on Friday, before closing out the series on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- The Hoyas are coming off of an exciting 5-4 ten-inning victory over local-rival George Washington on Wednesday afternoon at the GW Softball Complex.
- Gabby Park went 2-for-5 with an RBI while Abby Kozo was 2-for-4, and Devyn Johnson went 2-for-2 with an RBI.
- Dayanara Campos went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs for the day.
- Marina Egbert threw five scoreless innings and did not allow a hit facing 15 batters to pick up the win.
- Campos leads the team at the plate batting .368, while classmate Claire Turner is averaging .394 with 13 hits on the season.
- Emily Strittmatter also has 13 hits as well as a squad-high seven RBIs.
- Catherine Larson has a 2.74 ERA in the circle with 24 strikeouts on the year, while Emily Collins also has 24 strikeouts with a 3.25 ERA.
- GU's original BIG EAST opener was scheduled for last weekend at Providence, but the series was moved to April due to snow on the field from the week's storm.
ABOUT THE BLUE DEMONS
- DePaul is 10–14 this season and opened BIG EAST play last weekend by going 1-2 against Villanova.
- Jolie Adams leads the Blue Demons with a .431 batting average after going 6-for-9 at the plate last weekend.
- Morgan Rogers went 8-for-12 against Villanova with five extra-base hits, and earned BIG EAST Honor Roll recognition for the first time in her career.
