Georgetown Travels to Towson on Tuesday

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team (9-10) will travel to Towson University (17-11) on Tuesday afternoon for a mid-week nonconference matchup against the Tigers. First pitch at Tiger Softball Stadium in Towson, Maryland is scheduled for 2 p.m.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • The Hoyas are coming off a 1-2 weekend against the St. John's University Red Storm in BIG EAST Conference play.
  • The Red Storm managed to take the first (5-3) and third (6-5) contests in the close series, while Georgetown managed the 5-4 win on Saturday.
  • Gabby Park had a solid weekend with four hits, three RBIs and two runs scored, while Devyn Johnson also managed four hits with an RBI and a run scored as well as throwing someone out from behind the plate.
  • Dayanara Campos continued her solid season with a pair of home runs in the series to tally three RBIs and two runs scored.
  • Johnson leads the team at the plate batting .385, while Campos has a squad-high seven home runs as well as 14 RBIs while hitting .357. Her 27 career home runs place her in third on GU's all-time list and just three away from breaking the record.
  • Brooke Rebhan is hitting .324 with a squad-high 16 RBIs.
  • Marina Egbert has a 2.77 ERA in the circle with 15 strikeouts on the year, while Catherine Larson has a 3.65 ERA and 34 strikeouts.
  • Emily Collins rounds it out with 35 strikeouts in 49 innings pitched with a 3.71 ERA.
ABOUT THE TIGERS
  • The Tigers improved to 4-2 in CAA play and 17-11 overall following their 2-1 series win over Monmouth this past weekend.
  • Kaci Benton has 17 doubles on the season and leads the nation in that category.
  • Mackenzie Gorczyca was named CAA Player of the Week on Monday, the first CAA Weekly award of her career.
  • Lisa Costello is in her 31st season at the helm as Towson was picked to finish third in the North Division in the CAA preseason poll.
  • Top returners include 2025 All-CAA Second Team and 2026 Preseason All-CAA pick Grace Franczyk as well as 2025 CAA All-Rookie member Gorczyca and 2026 CAA Preseason Honorable Mention Briyana Wright.
