WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's women's openweight rowing team opened the Spring 2026 season Sunday morning with a strong showing at the George's Cup in Fairfax, Virginia on the Occoquan Reservoir. In the field of three teams, the final point totals were 17 for George Washington, 13 for Georgetown, and six for George Mason.
George Washington won the Class of 1998 Cup, securing victory in the varsity eight. Additionally, George Washington claimed the points competition for the George's Cup. Despite three event victories for the Hoyas—including dominant finishes in the 1V4, 2V4, and 3V8—the final team standings were determined by the combined points across the varsity eight, second varsity eight, and varsity four.
"The team kicked off the spring racing season with perfect conditions and fast races. We are excited to build off of what each boat learned this weekend and for the growth ahead." - Head Coach
Kendall Mulligan
