Hoyas Host James Madison on Wednesday

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team (14-16) will host the James Madison University Dukes on Wednesday in a nonconference game at the Catholic University Softball Complex. First pitch on Wednesday is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The game was originally scheduled as a doubleheader, but was changed to a single game earlier this week.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Georgetown went 1-2 at Creighton this past weekend in a BIG EAST Conference series.
  • The Hoyas lost the first game 6-5 before taking the second by a score of 6-4. On Saturday, GU fell in the rubber match, 8-4.
  • For her efforts against Creighton and Maryland, senior Dayanara Campos was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
  • Campos went 5-for-13 with three home runs, four runs scored, and 10 RBIs.
  • Her three-run homer in game one against Creighton made the senior the Hoyas' all-time career home run leader (31).
  • Campos leads the team at the plate batting .347, owning a team-best 27 RBIs and 11 home runs.
  • Brooke Rebhan has also been solid, batting .339 and leading the squad in hits (37) and runs scored (23).
  • Catherine Larson has a 3.42 ERA in the circle with 54 strikeouts on the year, while Emily Collins has a 3.44 ERA and 46 strikeouts.
  • All three Hoya pitchers currently rank among the top ten in the league in ERA.
  • In the field, the Hoyas lead the league in double plays per game with 0.57 and rank 11th in the country.
ABOUT THE DUKES
  • James Madison is 19-20 on the season and 7-8 in Sun Belt Conference play.
  • The squad is coming off a three-game sweep of Louisiana as the Dukes won 6-2, 10-2 and 15-9 over the weekend.
  • Kendra Lewis leads JMU with a .458 batting average, which ranks second in the conference.
  • She is also among the top 10 in the league in doubles (11) and home runs (10).
  • The Dukes rotate through four different pitchers in the circle, and Taylor Johnson leads the way with a 3.93 ERA.
  • Payton List has a 5.43 ERA and 83 strikeouts on the season.

  • Georgetown is 1-9 all-time against the Dukes and 0-2 at home.
