Georgetown Faces Weekend Series at St. John’s

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team is set to travel to face the St. John's University Red Storm from Friday, April 10 to Sunday, April 12 at Jack Kasier Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Queens, New York.

ABOUT THE HOYAS

  • In its last outing, Georgetown defeated the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks 13-9 on Tuesday night at Capital One Park
  • This week, Spencer Seid was named to the BIG EAST weekly honor roll. The graduate student earned his fourth accolade from the league this season and fourth in his career. Seid led the charge on the mound in the BIG EAST home opener against Xavier. Seid was a pitch away from a perfect game, going 8.2 innings of work with 10 strikeouts and one run allowed on two hits on Thursday.
  • Connor Peek paces the Hoya offense slashing .381/.475/.556 in his first season on the Hilltop. The graduate student has tallied 48 hits, 10 doubles, four home runs, 33 RBIs and 37 runs scored.
  • Jeremy Sheffield has had a standout performance slashing .368/.470/.536 this season. The senior has notched 46 hits, 35 RBIs, 10 doubles, a triple, three home runs and 22 runs scored.
  • Graduate left-hander Spencer Seid boasts a 5-1 record and a 2.84 ERA while leading Georgetown with 50 strikeouts and 44.1 innings pitched over seven starts. Senior right-hander Kai Leckszas owns a 4-3 record and a 3.40 ERA with 37 strikeouts over 39.2 innings pitched over seven starts. JT Raab holds a 1-2 record with a 5.48 ERA with 24 strikeouts. 
  • Graduate right-hander Luke Jackman has a 1.06 ERA while leading the Hoyas with six saves in 17.0 innings and 14 appearances out of the bullpen.
  • Georgetown returns 22 players from the 2025 squad and has added 10 transfers and seven newcomers.
  • Graduate student JT Raab earned a nod to the 2026 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team after posting a team-best 3.63 ERA in 74.1 innings of action in 2025. The Seaford, New York native was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team in 2025.
  • Head Coach Edwin Thompson enters his sixth season on the Hilltop. Thompson guided GU to its most successful season in program history in 2024 posting a 36-21 record marking three-consecutive 30-win seasons for the first time in program history. 

ABOUT ST. JOHN'S

  • St. John's enters the contest with a 15-17 overall record and a 3-0 mark in conference play following a 9-1 win over Central Connecticut State on Tuesday, April 7 in New Britain, Connecticut.
  • Mike Hampton enters his seventh season at the helm of the Red Storm.
