WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's squash standouts
Ella Schoonmaker and
Cici Curran have been selected as team captains for the upcoming 2026-27 season, as announced by Head Coach
Heba El Torky on Monday.
A repeat selection to lead the Hoyas, Schoonmaker was also a captain as a junior in 2025-26 en route to earning Second Team All-Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference honors. She has compiled 25 wins in her three seasons with the Blue & Gray and was instrumental in helping Georgetown win back-to-back College Squash Association Kurtz Cup championships in 2023-24 and 2024-25.
A two-time All-Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference performer, Curran has posted a combined 17 victories in her first two seasons on the Hilltop. She was named First Team All-MASC as a sophomore and Second Team All-MASC during her freshman campaign. Curran was also selected to participate in the CSA Individual Championships both seasons.
Georgetown returns 12 players from 2025-26 and welcomes a trio of newcomers for the upcoming campaign.
