WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's soccer team was defeated by No. 1/2 Stanford, 2-0 on Thursday evening. With the loss GU drops to 1-1-0 while Stanford improves to 2-0-0.
Head Coach Dave Nolan
"Tonight was certainly a tough game and a great learning moment for this team. Stanford are so talented and athletic you really need to play a flawless 90 minutes. They put us under pressure early and we could not deal with it. At 0-2 I felt it could get away from us but I have to give credit to the girls, they knuckled down to the challenge and we had a few good moments to make the end interesting. We will be a better team after tonight and we get ready to face a tough St. Mary's team on Sunday."
