WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team will kick off its 2026 campaign with the annual DC Challenge from Friday, August 28 to Sunday, August 30. Georgetown opens its season on the road against American University on Friday at the Meltzer Center, with first serve set for 6 p.m. The Hoyas will then return to McDonough Arena to host local rival George Mason on Saturday and Big Ten foe Northwestern on Sunday.

About the Hoyas
- Head Coach AJ Bonetti enters his fourth season at the helm following a 14-15 campaign last year, which included a 7-9 finish in BIG EAST play.
- Senior Kamryn Lee-Caracci was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST team for the first time in her career on August 20. She appeared in 104 sets for the Hoyas last season, leading the squad with a .376 hitting percentage and 82 blocks on the year. She also recorded 207 kills and a career-high 35 service aces.
- Setter Juleigh Urbina led the Hoyas with 723 assists, averaging 6.46 per set in 2025. In just her second season on the Hilltop, she surpassed the 1,000 career assist mark and led the squad in service aces with 44.
- Dionna Mitchell led the Hoya offense last season with a team-high 276 kills (2.88 per set). She also helped anchor the back row as one of three Hoyas to top 200 digs, finishing third on the team with 212.
- Georgetown's defense brings back key experience in libero Taylor Mercado, who posted 238 digs last season, and middle blocker Berkeley Ploder, who looks to build on an 80-block sophomore year.
- The Blue and Gray welcomes graduate transfer Bella McGirr from Boise State. Over 31 matches with the Broncos, McGirr delivered 238 digs (2.00/set), 46 assists (0.39/set), and 14 aces (0.12/set) from the libero position.
- Georgetown welcomes four freshmen this season: Lexi Anderson, Avery Lewis, Addie Lloyd and Olivia Penske.
