No. 6/9 Hoyas Travel to No. 19/16 Duke on Sunday

WASHINGTON – The No. 6/9 Georgetown University men's soccer team (2-0-1) will head out for its first road contest of the season as the Hoyas travel to the No. 19/16 Duke University Blue Devils for a nonconference matchup on Sunday. Kickoff at Freeman Field at Koskinen Stadium is scheduled for 6 p.m.  The game will be broadcast live on the ACC Network with Mike Watts and Paddy Foss calling the action.

About the Hoyas
  • The Hoyas used a late goal from senior Mateo Ponce Ocampo to defeat Delaware 1-0 on Thursday evening at Shaw Field. Georgetown is now 2-0-1 on the season after defeating Rutgers (2-1) and playing to a 1-1 draw against UNC.
  • On Monday, junior Mitchell Baker and classmate Charlie DeMarco were both named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
  • Baker had a goal against UNC and an assist in the win over Rutgers.
  • DeMarco played all 180 minutes in goal for the Hoyas with eight saves and a 1.00 GAA.
  • The Hoyas are currently ranked No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, and No. 9 by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
  • The Duke game will mark GU's second ranked opponent of the season as UNC was receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, and ranked by TopDrawerSoccer.com when they met.
About the Blue Devils
