WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's soccer team took down Delaware, 1-0 on Thursday night at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium in Newark, Delaware. With the win, GU moves to 2-2-2 and the Blue Hens move to 3-1-3 on the season.

   •   "The most important thing tonight was the result. We've been needing a win just to get a little bit of confidence.?There were moments where we were dominant and there were moments where they actually got a little bit on top. We had a really good goal call back for an offside play, but thankfully, Eliza maintained her composure and got the second chance and scored another good goal for us. Neither of our goalkeepers had to come up with a save. So, overall, another shutout, which is kind of a trademark for this team. We've just got to start trying to figure out ways to score more goals on set pieces and through to run a play. Now we get ready for a GW team that's scoring goals for fun and hopefully we can again get it better in that game, too."
About the Match
   •   In the eighth minute, the Blue Hens generated the first chance of the game, finding themselves in a two-on-zero situation with an open net, but the shot sailed just over the crossbar.
   •   The Hoyas would take control over the next 20 minutes, creating a pair of opportunities that were stifled in the box to keep the match scoreless.
   •   Georgetown came close to breaking through when Aliza Mannon found the back of the net, but the goal was later ruled offside following a VAR review.
   •   The Hoyas continued to battle but were unable to capitalize on their opportunities, sending the match into halftime tied 0-0.
   •   In the 60th minute, the Hoyas broke through the Blue Hens' back line when Abby Droner found Mannon, who tapped the ball into the back of the net to give Georgetown a 1-0 lead.
   •   Delaware nearly found the equalizer moments later, as a shot rang off the post, but the Hoyas maintained their one-goal advantage.
   •   The Georgetown back line held strong over the final 15 minutes to preserve the 1-0 victory for the Hoyas.
