WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's soccer team cruised past George Washington on Wednesday night 4-1 at Shaw Field. With the victory, GU improves to 3-2-2 and the Revolutionaries move to 3-3-2 on the season.

• "It was a great night, a beautiful night for a game. The girls played really well, brought great energy. In the first half we probably didn't get rewarded for our dominance with it being one nothing at halftime. It was more of a situation where we came out in the second half and try to get the second goal rather than let them tie it up. Obviously we got the PK. But overall, I think the score was a fair result of our domination in the game. We're happy that we were able to get a lot of players on the field for the first time, and we got everybody off healthy. So we get a little bit of a break now, and we get ready for our first conference game, next Saturday night, against Xavier."

About the Match

• After a handball in the box by GW, Lizzie Heller stepped up for a penalty kick, but the Revolutionaries' goalkeeper made the save to keep the match level six minutes into the contest.
• Georgetown continued to apply pressure as Caroline Spengler found space on the right side of the box, but the GW goalkeeper came up with another big save with 28 minutes remaining in the opening half.
• After Aliza Mannon earned the Hoyas another penalty kick, Abby Droner calmly slotted her attempt into the bottom-left corner to give Georgetown a 1-0 lead with 24 minutes remaining in the half.
• The Hoyas continued to control play, finishing the opening 45 minutes with a 12-1 advantage in shots while taking a 1-0 lead into the break.
• Georgetown came out on the front foot to open the second half, with Spengler firing a shot that narrowly missed wide.
• The Hoyas were awarded their third penalty kick of the match after Spengler was taken down in the box. Droner stepped up once again and converted, finding the back of the net for her second goal of the match to double Georgetown's lead with 27 minutes remaining.
• Just 37 seconds later, Droner continued her dominant performance, sending a ball into the box that found the head of Jocelyn Lohmeyer, who headed it home to give the Hoyas a 3-0 advantage.
• Georgetown continued to pour on the pressure as Evelyn Casadaban whipped a corner into the box, finding Kaya Hanson at the back post. Hanson headed it home to extend the Hoyas' lead to 4-0 with 16 minutes remaining.
• GW responded in the 79th minute with a free-kick goal to cut the deficit to three.
• The Blue & Gray controlled the remainder of the match, securing a 4-1 victory over GW to close out nonconference play.

Notable Stats

• Droner's two penalty kicks marked her third and fourth goals of the season, while she also added an assist in the victory.
• Lohmeyer recorded her first goal of the 2026 campaign.
• Hanson tallied the second goal of her career.
• Georgetown dominated offensively, outshooting the Revolutionaries 22-3.
• Alexa Hadley made her first career start, recording a save in the victory.
