About the Hoyas
- The Hoyas (4-0-1) used a trio of first-half goals to pick up the 3-0 win over the No. 10/6 Oregon State University Beavers on Friday evening at Shaw Field.
- The Hoyas struck early when junior David Urrutia fired from the corner of the box. His shot deflected off of a defender and went in to make it 1-0 in the 15th minute.
- Just four minutes later, senior Eric Howard had space and lofted a ball into the box. He found the head of junior Mitchell Baker who got it past the Oregon State keeper as the Hoyas took the 2-0 lead.
- Baker wasn't done as he found the back of the net one more time. Assists from senior captain Matthew Helfrich and junior Jack Brown allowed the striker to score on the breakaway as the Blue & Gray went into the half with the 3-0 advantage.
- On Monday, junior captain Tate Lampman was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, while Baker and keeper Charlie DeMarco were both named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
