Washington, D.C. ?Georgetown University?s field hockey team (9-3) outshot Ursinus College (4-12) 19-9 as the Hoyas handed the Bruins a 2-0 loss today on Kehoe field.
The Hoyas got on the board early in the first half when Leeanne Rizzo (Walpole, Mass./Walpole) passed the ball to Michaela Brown (Bronx, N.Y./Pomfret School), who tapped in her fourth goal of the season at 31:24.
Georgetown?s successful penalty corner trio of Rizzo, Aubrey Bruggeman (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair), and Elena Elster (Wiesbaden, Germany/ Lawrenceville School) teamed up to score the Hoyas? second goal with 29:21 remaining in the game.
GU goalie Jessica Herring (Ocean, N.J./Ocean Township) posted six saves on the day. UC goalie Nicole Monatesti tallied four saves in a losing effort.
GU is in action again Wednesday, October 24th as they host the University of Virginia at 4 p.m.
