Georgetown Names Sanders as Assistant Field Hockey Coach

Washington, D.C. -- Georgetown University women?s field hockey head coach Laurie Carroll has named Liz Sanders as assistant coach for the 2001 season.

A four-year starter for James Madison University, Sanders graduated in 2001 with a degree in history. Liz led the Dukes to two NCAA tournament appearances and was named a Regional All-American in 1999 and 2000. During her senior season, Sanders was named First Team All-CAA and a National All-American. In addition, Liz was ranked third in the nation in scoring, posting 25 goals and 5 assists.

Georgetown begins its 2001 season on August 31 against the Bucknell Bisons in Lewisburg, Pa.
