The Skinny
Coming off a tight loss to Miami on Saturday, Georgetown is looking to rebound in its second BIG EAST game of the season. The Hoyas fell 59-55 to the Providence Friars in their only meeting last season. The Friars finished 7-9 in the BIG EAST last season, bowing out in the opening round of the conference tournament. Like Georgetown, Providence dropped its BIG EAST opener, losing 85-63 against Boston College. Georgetown boasts one of the top-5 offenses in the league, averaging more than 10 points per game more than the Friars.
Rebekkah Brunson is averaging 18.1 points per game, coming off her seventh double-double of the season against Miami where she scored 17 points and added 14 rebounds in defeat. Mary Lisicky has continued to sink clutch threes, averaging 3.10 makes per contest. Against Miami, Lisicky swished six three balls.
The Providence attack is led by Michal Epstein, the Friar?s only double-digit scorer, averaging 15.7 points per game. Jessica Simmonds leads the team in rebounds with 6.1 per game as well as blocking a team high six shots.
