WASHINGTON, D.C. ? Behind three second-half goals, the Georgetown women?s field hockey team earned a 4-2 victory, and snapped visiting Rider University?s 12-game winning streak, Sunday on Kehoe Field. With the win, the Hoyas improve their season record to 5-9, while Rider falls to 12-4.

Rider began the scoring less than a minute into the match, when Ashley Boulden scored off a rebounded shot to give Rider an early 1-0 advantage. Katie Conlon later extended Rider's lead to two goals when she converted a penalty corner in the game?s third minute. Maddy Boulden and Ashley Boulden both earned assists on the play.

Georgetown responded with four unanswered goals?three of which came in the second half?to earn their fourth win in six games.

Jessica Quinn (Cumberland, R.I./ Lincoln School) scored the Hoyas? first goal?off an assist by freshman Jen Kosloski (Drexel Hill, Pa./ Cardinal O?Hara)?early in the first half. Seniors Leeanne Rizzo (Walpole, Mass./ Walpole), Beth Gagnon (Springfield, Va./ Georgetown Visitation) and Dionna Jordan (Portsmouth, R.I./ Portsmouth Academy) all scored in the second half to give Georgetown the decisive 4-2 upset win. Caroline Cole (Boston, Mass./ Buckingham, Browne and Nichols) and Lauren Galbally (Malvern, Pa./ Villa Maria Academy) picked up two assists each on the day.

Freshman Abby Winer (Rising Sun, Md./ Rising Sun) made 9 saves in goal for the Hoyas, while Krysta Bearish posted 5 saves for the Broncs.

Georgetown will next travel to Pennsylvania on Oct. 22 for a 7:00 p.m. game against the Quakers.
