March 7, 2003 Stanford, Calif. - The time for the Georgetown University women?s lacrosse game against Stanford University in the 2nd Annual deBeer East/West Challenge to be held on Sunday, March 9, at Maloney Field has been changed. The game, originally scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. PST start, has been moved up to 12 Noon.
Georgetown, currently ranked No. 3 in the latest Intercollegiate Women?s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll, enters the game with a 2-0 overall record and a 1-0 mark in BIG EAST Conference play. The Hoyas have posted victories over Virginia Tech (17-5) and Richmond (15-13). Stanford, ranked 17th in the March 4th poll, is 4-0 overall and 2-0 in Mountain Pacific Lacrosse League (MPLL) competition. The Cardinal have earned wins over Davis (12-8), New Hampshire (18-9), Ohio State (11-10) and Denver (15-9).
The Hoyas' first home contest is scheduled for Saturday, March 15, against BIG EAST opponent, Syracuse at 1:00 p.m on Kehoe Field.
