Women' Golf places 11th at Bonnie Hoover Invitational

Harrisonburg, VA - The Georgetown women?s golf team turned in an 11th-place finish at the Bonnie Hoover Invitational this weekend, April 12-13, at the par 72 Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg, Va. Hosted by eventual winner James Madison, the tournament fielded 17 competing teams. Georgetown, led by freshman Nicole Hayashi (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), earned a combined score of 1004 (331, 332, 341) in the three-round competition.

James Madison won the invitational with a composite 935, followed 10 strokes back by Maryland.  Ohio was third with a 950; Princeton took fourth with 956; and Yale was fifth with 959.

Hayashi, the Hoyas? top finisher, placed 17th in a tie with Longwood?s Amanda Diamond. After a first round 75, Hayashi recorded scores of 85 and 80 in the next two rounds to finish with a combined 240. 

The next best finisher for Georgetown was freshman Christy Larrimore (Severna Park, Md.), who tied for the 42nd spot with a three-round total of 250 (80, 84, 86). Following Larrimore was sophomore Connie Isler (Annapolis, Md.), whose combined score of 255 (88, 83, 84) was good for a 58th place tie.

Rounding out the GU golfers were freshman Erin Cockren (Westfield, N.J.) and junior Jill Haak (Baltimore, Md.).  Cockren and Haak tied each other for 78th place. Cockren scored a 94, 81, and 91 to finish out at 266, while Haak reached the same combined total after scores of 88, 84, and 94.
