Hoya Women’s Golf Continues Spring Slate at City of Oaks Collegiate

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf program heads to the City of Oaks Collegiate hosted by NC State University this weekend to compete in its second tournament of the spring slate. The 13-team field is headed to the par-72, 6,188-yard course at the Lonnie Poole Golf Club in Raleigh, North Carolina for a three-day, 54-hole tournament.
 
FOLLOW THE HOYAS
  • Scoreboard by Clippd will be used to score the tournament with a link to the live scoring available on GUHoyas.com.
  • The tournament will begin on Saturday, March 21, with 18 holes scheduled for each day through Monday, March 23.

LAST TIME OUT
  • After 54 holes at the Daniel Island Invitational, hosted by College of Charleston, the Georgetown University women's golf team finished 15th. The two-day, 54-hole tournament was held on the par-72, 6,166-yard Ralston Creek course at the Daniel Island Golf Club. The tournament boasted a field of 15 Division I teams with the Hoyas carding a 67-over 931 (312-310-309). High Point University won the tournament at an even 864 (294-286-284). 
 
ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Georgia Ruffolo is in the top spot of the lineup after moving up 12 spots to finish tied for 34th at 9-over 225 (76-76-73) at the Daniel Island Invitational. A clean final round, she managed one birdie and 15 pars for a three-round total of two birdies (0/1/1) and 40 pars (13/12/15).
  • Milla Sagel will be in the second spot for the Hoyas after Sagel finished at 22-over 238 (80-76-82) bolstered by four birdies (2/2/0) and 29 pars (8/11/10) in her last outing.
  • In the last tournament, Catherine Qiu played as an individual but will be in the third spot for the Hoyas following 54 holes where she moved up one spot to tie for 62nd at 16-over 232 (75-81-76). Her third round was fueled by 13 pars giving her three birdies (2/1/0) and 34 pars (11/10/13) for the tournament.
  • Fourth in the lineup will be Gabriella Eifrig who joined Sagel in a tie for 74th. Eifrig moved up five spots to finish at 22-over 238 (80-80-78). She tallied a GU single round best in this tourney with three pars to go along with seven pars for a three-round total of five birdies (1/1/3) and 27 pars (9/11/7).
  • Sunny Wang will round out the Hoya lineup in the fifth spot. At Daniel Island, Wang moved up four spots to be in a tie for 68th at 18-over 234 (76-82-76). She managed one birdie and 12 pars in the final round for tournament totals of five (2/2/1) and 35 (12/11/12), respectively.
  • Mimi Burton will compete this weekend as an individual after she rounded out the Hoyas on the Daniel Island Invitational leaderboard when she tied for 77th at 24-over 240 (80-78-82). Over three rounds she managed two pars (0/1/1) and 32 pars (12/12/8).
 
HOYAS X CITY OF OAKS COLLEGIATE
  • A season ago, the Hoyas finished eighth in the 17-team field at the City of Oaks Collegiate After a 1-over 73 in the final 18 holes, Ruffolo tied for third at 3-over 219 (76-70-73) following three rounds of action to be the top Hoya finisher. She added a trio of birdies and 11 pars for 12 (4/5/3) birdies and 29 pars (8/10/11) over the tournament.
