WASHINGTON, D.C. ? Ten Georgetown baseball players have signed contracts to play summer ball in various leagues across the country this summer.
2003 Captain Michael Lombardi (Brookhaven Hemlet, N.Y./St. Anthony?s), RHP Kevin Field (Moorsetown, N.J./Moorestown), and Andrew Cleary (Weston, Mass./Belmont Hill School) will join the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League. Lombardi is set to play for the Cotuit Kettleers, Field will pitch for the Harwich Mariners, and Cleary will suit up for the Hyannis Mets.
Billy Quinn (Alta Loma, Calif./Alta Loma) and Eddie Pena (Miami, Fla./Michael Krop) can be seen in the New England Collegiate Baseball League playing for the Sanford Mainers and Thread City Tides respectively.
Freshman Timmy Jones (Ledgewood, N.J./Morristown) has earned a spot in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League, playing for the Jersey Pilots.
Four Hoyas will compete in the New York Collegiate Baseball League. Michael Halloran (Canton, N.Y./Williams) will pitch for the Watertown Wizards, while Tom Braun (Kingwood, Tex./Kingwood), Travis Danysh (San Antonio, Tex./Alamo Heights), and Jim Supple (Summit, N.J./St. Peter?s Prep) suit up for the Plattsburg Thunder.
