WASHINGTON, D.C. -- After jumping off to a 1-0 lead, the Georgetown women?s field hockey team allowed 2 second-half goals to visiting Pacific to drop their fifth consecutive game, 2-1, Monday afternoon on Kehoe Field.
With the win, Pacific improves to 3-4, while the Hoyas, currently 1-5, are left to pick up the pieces and work against difficult odds to obtain the program?s fourth consecutive winning season.
Sophomore forward Jessica Quinn (Cumberland, R.I./ Lincoln School) began the scoring in the 15th minute when she shot a pass from Meghan Devaney (Larchmont, N.Y./ Mamaroneck) past Pacific goalkeeper Gina Sadler.
Pacific came storming back in second half, with a goal in the 42nd minute by Megan Haas, off a Marissa Atilano pass, and later a goal in the 54th minute by Laura Maurer, off a Vianney Campos assist.
Sadler made 5 saves in goal for the Tigers, while freshman goalkeeper Caitlyn Faller (Fredericksburg, Va./ Stafford) posted 8 saves for the Hoyas.
Georgetown will next be in action on Sept. 20, when they take on the University of Maine at noon on Kehoe Field.
