The Skinny
Georgetown snapped a four game losing streak last weekend with its 21-0 win over VMI. The Hawks meanwhile have won three consecutive with two of the wins coming by a touchdown or less. Today?s game will be just the second meeting all-time between the schools with Monmouth upsetting the Hoyas 12-10 last year in Washington, D.C. That game marked the second straight game of the season that GU lost in the final seconds when the Hawks found pay dirt with under 20 seconds and topped the Hoyas.

It was a breakout game for the Hoya offense against VMI as the "O? put up season highs in rushing, passing and total offense. Led by senior qb Andrew Crawford and junior tailback Kim Sarin GU generated 490 yards of total offense. Sarin rushed for 180 yards and Crawford completed 12-of-16 passes for 188 yards including a game high six tosses to junior tight end Glenn Castergine for 125 yards. Not to be overshadowed by GU?s offensive explosion was another superb game from the consistent Hoya defense. GU shutout VMI and held the Keydets to just 156 yards of offense and 2-of-12 third down attempts. Ends Michael Ononibaku and Alex Buzbee along with linebackers Jason Carter and Mehdi Hassan led the defensive effort, combining for over half of GU?s tackles, four TFLs, three sacks, four passes defended and one interception.

Monmouth was on the road for the past three contests and came home with wins over Iona, Wagner and Albany. Boasting a 6-1 overall record the Hawks are winning once again with a dominant defense. MU is only allowing 16.71 points a game (ninth in the nation) and allowing just 97.57 yards on the ground (12th in the nation).

You Should Know...
Georgetown?s Kim Sarin is on pace for a 1,000 yard rushing season it would be the first ever by a Hoya. Sarin is averaging 99.5 yards a game and has 597 yards on the year. He has three 100-yard games thus far and with one more will be the first back since 1997 to have four in one season.
