The Skinny
Georgetown visits its oldest football rival when the Hoyas venture into the Bronx for a Patriot League showdown with Fordham. The Hoya-Ram rivalry dates back to 1890 when the two squared off to a 6-6 tie. The Hoyas best streak was winning 14 of 16 contests between 1915 and 1948 but the tide has since turned and the Rams have won the past nine contests including last season?s 34-10 victory. It is the second straight season that Georgetown will play at Fordham and GU will be looking for its first victory against the Rams since a 12-6 win in 1983.

After a huge 21-0 victory against scholarship program VMI on October 9 GU traveled to Monmouth last weekend and the Hoyas fell 27-10 to the Hawks. It was another game that saw the Hoyas close at the half (down just 10-7) but a two touchdown third quarter for Monmouth opened the game up. On the year GU has played its opponents even in the first half, being slilghtly outscored 67-71, but the third quarter is the Blue and Gray?s downfall, getting outscored 56-15. Georgetown?s defense continues to stymie the opponent, notching six sacks at Monmouth and holding the Hawks to 5-of-16 on third down attempts.

Fordham is coming off its first league defeat of the season, falling 35-20 at home to Lafayette. It was the second straight home loss for the Rams after losing 27-20 to Brown in overtime the week before. NaQuinton Gainous, who is tied for 13th in the nation for tackles per game with 11.0, and Thaddeus Kornegay, who is second in the land with seven interceptions, lead the Rams defense.

You Should Know...
Georgetown?s defensive line combination of Michael Ononibaku and Alex Buzbee is the nation?s top duo in sacks. Ononibaku is second in all of Division I-AA with 9.5 sacks and Buzbee is 10th with 6.5. Not one other school out of 119 I-AA institutions has two players in the top 10.
