The Scoop:
Georgetown entertains Mt. St. Mary?s for the 10th time in Washington today. The Hoyas are on a five game winning streak against the Mount, including last season?s 12-5 win in Emmitsburg, Maryland. The Mountaineers control the overall series, ripping off 15 consecutive wins beginning in 1973. The Mount is one of Georgetown?s oldest rivals with Loyola being the only other school the Hoyas have faced more often.

GU Head Coach Dave Urick coached the Mount?s Tom Gravante at Hobart and has a close friendship with the Gravante family. Urick credits Gravante with helping mold current assistant coach Scott Urick?s hard work ethic as both a coach and a player in the MLL. Both Dave Urick and Gravante will team up this summer to coach the South team in the annual North-South lacrosse game.

The Hoyas are on a three game winning streak after defeating UMass, Loyola and Vermont. GU?s two losses on the year have come to current #2 Navy and #3 Maryland. Walid Hajj leads Georgetown?s goal scorers with 20. Andy Corno has been back on track at the "X" after an injury slowed him in the Navy game. Corno tied his career high with 18 face-off wins against UMass and is 31 away from breaking his season Georgetown single season record of 165 set last season.

Mt. St. Mary?s started the season with four straight losses and in the last seven games has traded a win for a loss each affair. The Mountaineers own victories over Siena, Wagner, VMI and Canisius.

YOU SHOULD KNOW...
Andy Corno
is resetting Georgetown?s record books. He is the career leader in face-off wins with 400 and in face-off win percentage at .648. He is six ground balls and six face-off attempts away from being the all-time leader in both of those categories also.
