Washington, D.C. -Georgetown University women's basketball head coach Terri Williams-Flournoy will be appearing at the BIG EAST Conference Women's Basketball Media Day On Thursday, October 27. The event will be held at the ESPN Zone in Times Square, located in the heart of New York City.
Opening remarks by the leagues head coaches begin at 10:40 a.m. Coach Williams-Flournoy will be available for interviews from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Williams-Flournoy is entering her second season after leading the Hoyas to a 12-16 overall record and a berth in the BIG EAST Championship First Round in her first season on the Hilltop.
Georgetown returns four starters to the 2005-06 squad including senior Bethany LeSueur (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City (Va.)) who averaged 9.8 points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game and 2.5 assists as a junior. The 5-11 forward notched double-figure points in GU's final 12 games and led the team with 56 steals.
Last season's leading scorer and rebounder Kieraah Marlow (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) returns after averaged 12.5 ppg and 8.6 rpg as a freshman. The 5-10 forward earned a spot on the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team and was the team's only rookie to start in all 28 games.
Coach Williams-Flournoy and the Hoyas open the 2005-06 campaign with a non-league tilt at Savannah St. on Sunday, November 20.
