The Game

Georgetown's men's basketball team takes to the road for a weekend matchup against the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers University. Saturday's game will mark the second time the two teams will face each other this season. The Hoyas came out on top of a 62-55 margin earlier this season.

The Hoyas are currently riding a high after their satisfying 61-51 victory over visiting Seton Hall in their first nationally televised game of the season. Wednesday's victory was carried live on ESPN Classic as "throwback" game that gave way to crowds of fans dressed in their retro Georgetown gear, "Hoya Paranoia" rally towels throughout the arena and more #33 jerseys than anyone has seen in a long time.

Junior Brandon Bowman exploded in Wednesday night's game, leading the Hoyas in scoring with 25 points (14 of 15 from the free throw line) and 7 boards. Along with Bowman, three more starters scored in double digits in the game. Fellow Junior Ashanti Cook added 12 while freshmen Jonathan Wallace and Jeff Green each netted 10. Bowman has been a force for the Hoyas, scoring in double digits in the last eight games. Georgetown has come out on top of three of their last four and five of their last seven matchups.

The Scarlet Knights will look to end a four game losing streak when they host the visiting Hoyas Saturday night. Rutgers has fallen in eight of their last nine, winning only one BIG EAST conference game on the season, a 72-67 victory over Providence. Sophomore Quincy Douby leads Rutgers in scoring, averaging 15.1 points per game on the season. Two other Scarlet Knights average in double digits with Ricky Shields at 14.1 and Ollie Balie at 10.8 ppg.

Georgetown will spend the upcoming week without a game and will return home to face West Virginia next Saturday, February 12 at 4:00 at MCI Center.
