Washington, DC--The Georgetown University baseball team had three members of the squad named to All BIG EAST conference squad. Junior designated hitter Ryan Craft was named to the first team, senior outfielder Billy Quinn was named to the second team, while senior pitcher Tom Braun was named to the third team.
Craft batted .355 for the year and started 53 of 55 games played. He led Georgetown in homeruns with 13, RBI with 48, and total bases at 116. Craft was second on the squad in hits (65) and runs (39) as well as ranking second in the BIG EAST for homeruns. In addition, Craft was named BIG EAST Player of the Week for March 28 where he belted three home runs including the game winner in the victory over Notre Dame, knocked in seven RBI and scored six runs. Craft was also named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America District II Baseball team.
Quinn, a repeat selection to the BIG EAST Second team, started 53 of 55 games played. Named team captain his senior year, Quinn batted .286 and was second on the team in homeruns and RBI. Quinn was also named BIG EAST Player of the Week during the week of February 28 where he drove in two RBI, scored four runs, and tallied four hits.
Braun had an impressive senior year, setting the Georgetown Career Save Record with 12. He also stepped into the starting rotation, and pitched the only nine inning complete game for the Hoyas. Braun struck out 50 in 53 innings of work and posted a 3.91 ERA.
