WASHINGTON, DC - The Tombs, featuring Jeff Green, Jonathan Wallace and the new additions to the 2005-06 Hoya roster started their Kenner League season with a strong statement, scoring 140 points in their first game. The winning trend continued through most of the nine game schedule, blemished by only one loss, a one point defeat in their final regular season game. However, eight wins was enough to get them into the first semi-final game this Saturday at 12:00 noon in McDonough Gym. The Tombs face DC Jammers, a team comprised of players from other DC area schools, including Terrapin players James Gist and Sterling Ledbetter.
Ashanti Cook and Roy Hibbert are making noise for Clyde's in this year's league as they directed their team to a 9-0 record and a berth in the second semi-final game this Saturday. Hibbert put an exclamation point on the perfect record, by scoring 32 points in their final game. Clyde's faces Custom Uniforms, featuring Hoya junior Sead Dizdarevic. Tip-off time is 1:30pm.
The winners of each of these games will face off in the 2005 Kenner League Championship game on Sunday, August 7th at 4:00pm in McDonough Gym.
