Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown swimming and diving team lost two meets today against Seton Hall and at Loyola (Md.). The men lost 179-107 to Loyola and 190-93 to BIG EAST Conference opponent Seton Hall. The women dropped a 165-135 decision to Loyola and 171-129 to Seton Hall. The men drop to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in league meets while the women are now 1-3 overall, 0-1 BE.
On the men's side, sophomore diver Michael McWilliams (Potomac, Md./Gonzaga High) took both the one and three meter diving events with scores of 223.90 and 187.40, respectively. Freshman Brian Koh (Rowland Heights, Calif./Damien) took first place in the 200 yard individual medley with at time of 2:01.96. Freshman Wes Going (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis University High) qualified for the BIG EAST Championship in the 100 backstroke while sophomore co-captain Daniel Robinson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) qualified in the 200 backstroke.
On the women's side, freshman Laura Stark (Martinsville, N.J./Mount St. Mary Academy) took first place in three events (100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, 200 individual medley), qualifying for the BE Championship in the 200 individual medley. Freshman Laura Alito (West Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) took first place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.65 to qualify for the conference championship. Sophomore Christina DiNapoli (Saddle River, N.j./Immaculate Heart) and freshman Emma Porteus (Centerville, Mass./Barnstable) also qualified for the BE Championship in the 100 and 200 breaststroke while freshman Lindsay Vickroy (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga) qualified in the 100 freestyle.
The Hoyas return to the water on Saturday, November 11 when they host William & Mary at McCarthy Pool. The meet is slated for 2 p.m.
